The Villisca Iowa Ax Murder House

The Villisca Iowa Axe Murder House Investigation

Supplemental Report...Submitted by Judy

Ok…Tim is forcing me to write a report even AFTER my hard work on the web article in regards to the “Villisca Axe Murder House” So here goes!

After the initial arrival into Villisca, food, tour etc, I contacted Darwin and got directions to the house. Once we arrived Erin accompanied me for the initial equipment set up. We immediately made a comment to each other about the overwhelming sadness about the place when we entered through the kitchen area. After the equipment was in place and checked for performance, the team took a short break (without Tim) and visited the town’s local Cemetery to locate the gravesites of the Stillinger girls and the Moore Family.

Upon return Juli and I were the first to team up and make our way to the children’s bedroom, which is located on the second floor facing east. After we entered the children’s room my EMF meter began to sound off, alerting Juli and me that we could possibly have some company. I say this because there is no electricity in the house. I then asked if there was a presence in the room and if so to beep the meter once. The presence complied and after a few direct questions it was determined that one of the children Katherine was interacting with us. She became very fascinated with the sound and lights on the meter at times and on a couple occasions; I was forced to shut the EMF meter off just to get her to stop playing with the lights! She did respond very well on controlled questions and when asked” How many spirits” resided in the home she answered with 8 beeps on the meter.

After this Juli and I made our way to the parent’s bedroom, which is located on the western side of the house. The EMF meter did pick up some readings but not as strong as the children’s bedroom. As we made our way down the stairs, I sensed that we were being followed very closely and being rushed to leave the residence. We made our way to the barn area for a brief break and some equipment adjustments. After this Tim and I returned to the children’s bedroom to see if the children would be willing to interact with Tim and the EMF meter. Tim advised me as we were standing by the a child’s crib located on the southern wall of the bedroom that he felt very dizzy and felt a sharp pain on the right side of his head. Being a sensitive; I felt a child wanted Tim to experience some residual “final moments” left from that night 96 years ago. After a short period the EMF meter began to go off again. Tim and I asked controlled questions such as ‘Do you like the lights” and “Do you want us to stay and play with you? Getting responses from all the questions that we asked, we finally thanked the children and headed back out to the barn area.

I decided to monitor the cameras while the rest of the team re-entered the house. With some camera adjustments on Juli’s location in the children’s room with the dowsing rods, it appeared that the parent’s bedroom was becoming quite active in the corner near the dresser located next to the bed. We observed “orbs” floating by the mirror and shooting straight up the wall. I advised the team to check out the parent’s room for activity. As the team conducted an investigation in that area Juli was picking up that Sarah was in the room with them and that she was feeling trapped there by Josiah. The team members remained in the parents bedroom for a short time and then departed the house and went back to the barn.

Juli and Tim made their way to a outside location of the property that was once the spot of a cistern that resided on the property at one time. Juli seemed to sense an item or items that had been dropped in there a time long ago, which may have belonged to the Moore Family. I did not sense that when asked, however I did get an image of a water basin for some unknown reason?

As the alleged time of the murders approached, the team prepared itself to be inside the house when the 1:20am train roared thru Villisca. The Team broke off into 2 groups; Tim and I took the children’s room upstairs while Juli, Josh and Erin took the parlor area downstairs. At 1:20am, which is said to be the hour of death for the family the house decided give me a glimpse of what occurred. As the train made its way thru Villisca, many members of the team heard the screams of a young child at the same time and, as I was standing by the Tim in the children’s room I saw, what appeared like a little child wearing a cotton buttoned up pajamas, knee length scooting up out of the main bed. The child looked at me, with a smile on its face and disappear after a few seconds! I then saw what appeared to be a dark shadowy outline of a male bending over on the bed with his head bent down at an angle as if listening for a heartbeat or the last breath. The body structure was that a small framed person perhaps only weighing a mere 140 pounds with a height of no more then 5’6. I also noticed the covers on the main bed had a wrinkly appearance as if someone had been pulled by its feet to the end of the bed. I did not see the child return after that. Suddenly, Tim alerted me to the fact that the door leading into the attic area was opening and closing as if someone was playing a game with us.

We focused our attention towards the door and I positioned the IR camera towards the door as Tim sat down on the floor with the Video Camcorder. We both diligently coaxed the child to open the door and come out and play, but as fast as she opened it, she closed it. After 15 minutes I located a blue ball about the size of tennis ball and placed it in a crack of the floor about 2/12 feet in front of the attic door where it would not roll independently on its own. After a few more moments of enticement, the door swung open and the ball moved out of its wedged spot and made its way to Tim. We were astonished to catch this on tape but also very thankful to Katy for cooperating with us.

Shortly after this incident the investigation came to a close and everyone made their way back to the barn to wrap the investigation up and return home. I would like to thank Villisca, the house and its ghostly occupants for allowing me this unbelievable and incredible evening. Villisca I hope to be back soon…
