Supplemental Investigation Report
Mississippi Belle

On September 12th, 2008 I was offered a great opportunity to join the Hastings Paranormal Team in a Investigation at the Mississippi Belle restaurant in Hastings MN. We arrived at the restaurant around 9:30pm to meet with another Minnesota Paranormal team to set up the equipment. We carried the equipment upstairs to the banquet room where I noticed about ten feet into the room I had a sensation of walking through cobwebs on my face. I checked the area out and noticed that it was kept very clean and there were no cobwebs hanging like there were in some of the other rooms. After we waited for the restaurant to close Judy, myself and a team member from the other team did a walk through of the building. Prior to this investigation I knew very little about the place except that people have had many experiences and have heard a couple of EVP's. I’m the type of person where I like to experience things on my own without knowing what others have experienced in past investigations. The first place we walked down to was the basement and we walked into the dish area and right away I got this heavy negative feeling in the whole upper part of my body, something I have never felt or experienced before. I later found out there was a spirit in that area that the investigators did not like to come in contact with. After that we walked through the rest of the place and then started setting up the equipment.
The initial investigation started around 11pm or so and Judy, myself and Theresa a member from the other team walked down to the wine cellar and immediately we came in contact with a woman that was communicating with us through an EMF meter. This was my first investigation and it was by far the most amazing thing I have ever seen and experienced. Judy had the meter and did most of the communicating but she responded to about four questions. She let us know she was female and that she was the woman that normally is down there. Judy also asked her if we were bothering her and if it would be better if we came back when the management above had left. She responded to yes so we thanked her and told her we would come back. The next area we went to was the banquet room, we were only up there for a couple of minutes when we immediately started to have communication from a gentleman that was in the room with us. We asked him if he was male or female and he said male, we then asked if he was murdered there and he said no, but that he had died there. It kind of seemed he started playing with us with the EMF meter after we started asking questions so we pulled ourselves out of the room. What was interesting to me was the same area I felt cobwebs where we were communicating with him, the very same spot! We then explored up in the loft area where we did not experience anything but what was very interesting to me as we walked through the banquet area and started heading down the stairs we saw a huge burst of light behind us that all three of us saw, we did not know where it came from or if it was even paranormal but it was an interesting add on to the investigation. After that we headed down to the basement area, I did not have that same feeling I did when we went down there the first time but the door was shut and we had a motion sensor to detect if this entity would open and close the door by him self. Later on in the evening I went in to use the ladies room and I didn’t bring the EVP in there with me but I’m kind of kicking myself for not doing so because I heard tapping on the stall wall next to me and there was no one in that bathroom but me. As the night went on we walked through some more areas but I did not feel or have any other contact like I did when the night first started. We did make our way back down to the wine cellar but we did not pick up or get anything while we were down there.
I can honestly say this was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had and I am very glad I got the chance to join the team for this one investigation. I have noticed in the last couple years I have a tendency to be sensitive to things but the paranormal has been my biggest interest since I can remember. I just am very grateful that I had this opportunity and I really hope I am invited back for future investigations with the Hastings Paranormal Team. They kept everything very logical and professional, which I thought was something of importance that a paranormal team needs to have. I am very excited to see if there was any evidence caught that we did not get while we were there. Again thanks so much for letting me have that opportunity, it was an amazing experience I will never forget!
