Do Not Fear The Unknown

This visit to the Mississippi Belle Restaurant was primarily to set up and leave some devices to run in the location during the overnight hours. Judy, Erin and Josh went to the location and set up a variety of audio recorders and also an IR camera connected to a laptop. All of the equipment was retrieved the following morning and the evidence was reviewed.

It was hoped that HPT would be able to obtain more information that might reveal the cause behind the escalation in activity at the location.

Audio evidence did yield some EVP's that were collected during this equipment drop. We were not able to obtain any good conclusive video.

Background:

This business located in downtown Hastings had been visited by HPT on three past investigations to include one with IPRA. After the completion of the February 9th investigation, there was a reported escalation in the amount and variety of activity. Activity reported included chairs moving out from tables, silverware being initially set up correctly only to be found a short time later being moved into what resembled a cross at the place setting. Candles at tables had been reported being replaced at night, only to have employees return a short time later and finding some candles being lit at certain tables. One of the owners also reported an incident whereby while in the basement, a light appeared to switch on and off by itself. Also, all employees reported a feeling of being watched and an overall feeling of uneasiness since the 2-9 investigation.

It was hoped HPT would be able to obtain additional audio or video evidence to assist them in determining what could have cause a significant escalation in activity at the location.

Conclusion...

Due to the significant increase in activity reported at the location, an increased feeling of uneasiness reported by the Owners and Employees, and the recently reported occurrences of items being either manipulated or moved, and reports of candles being lighted by themselves, it was determined that an additional investigation was warranted.
