Supplemental Investigation Report
Mississippi Belle
Submitted by Rich

My report for the investigation in Hastings, MN.

On this trip to the Belle we were accompanied by IPRA from Iowa. It was kind of sad that they came here for the first time and were greeted with wind chills of -45 degrees outside. The wind made for a very challenging investigation to say the least. I never knew how much a cold wind outside could affect things on the inside and tonight was a perfect example. When I first went into the basement/office/ boiler room area I immediately saw a mist. This peaked my curiosity and began to snap pictures. This room was hot, like 110 degrees hot. I then noticed there was a window open and the extremely cold wind was blowing in with such intensity there was a huge cloud of steam forming. I am surprised there wasn’t a mini thunderstorm.

Tonight I brought a digital camera and a digital voice recorder to document anything activity that might happen. I snapped around 100 pictures and recorded over 2 hours of audio. After reviewing I disappointingly came up with nothing. One thing that may have been a factor to this was that there were so many people in the building. It was very difficult to distinguish any kind of audio evidence since there was so much human activity all over the building.

All in all, it was a fun but fruitless investigation. The effort was there but it seemed the spirits were not. The one thing I did find this evening was a damn fine espresso served by the owner, I highly recommend one if you are in town.
