Background Information:
HPT team member Judy first discovered this location through a web search. Judy then contacted Erin who coordinated an initial meeting with Christy from the location. Erin then contacted the location about setting up an initial meeting.
After a time and date was agreed upon, Judy and Erin traveled down to the studio and met with Christy who provided them a walk through of the house. Christy stated that there had been a myriad of active, in fact too numerous to all mention. Some of the incidents included…
- Feelings of not being alone, being watched or followed
- Unexplained noises
- Reports of persons seeing “shadows”
- Electrical device anomalies
- The reported sighting of a “Blue Man” in the poolroom
- Reports of strange occurrences or sightings in the woods surrounding the house and studio
- Guests have also stated that they would not return due to “incidents” they had experienced
It should also be noted that this property abuts up to property once operated as a sanitarium in the past.
During the initial interview, Judy got a strong feeling of a male presence immediately after entering the house. She also got a feeling of being followed during the walk through of the house.
Digital photographs were taken during the walk through which yielded an orb in one photograph that seemed to coincide with a feeling that Judy had directing her to take that picture in a specific location. Digital recorders were also used to record the interview, which after review provided some EVP’s of what sounded like a male who was displeased with the presence of Erin and Judy.
An investigation time and date was agreed upon for Saturday May 10 th.
Investigation:
The team first met up at Tim’s home at 2030, loaded equipment, and departed for the location. By the time the team reached their location at 2110, which is located outside of town in a somewhat secluded area. The team was greeted by Christy and shown inside. The team immediately went into a “great room” where some microphones and recording equipment were already set up. This great room is on the ground level of the home along with some bedrooms and a pool area.
Bedrooms, dining area, kitchen and office areas are located on an upper level and are accessible via a walkway that surrounds the great room area. All of the bedrooms are within view of the great room where the team set up on a coffee table near a large sofa. The team then began running cables for the IR cameras and set up the laptops and DVR’s. After setup, which took about 30 minutes, the team broke into smaller investigative teams and began the investigation.
Josh and Juli began the investigation by the pool area while Andrea and Erin investigated some bedrooms located above the great room. Tim took the first shift watching the DVR’s and monitoring the radios to direct the teams to areas where activity was viewed on the monitors. While monitoring the DVR’s, Tim noticed what appeared to be a figure move towards a doorway, stand for a minute and then depart. It appeared to be only about 4 feet tall and resembled someone walking by a window, pausing briefly and then moving on. Tim attempted to contact Erin on the radio but was unable to do so. When the teams returned to base, Tim inquired if someone was walking by a window while Erin and Andrea were investigating the bedroom. Erin informed Tim that there was a window, but that it was about 20 feet above ground level, and also that the camera was pointed out the doorway towards Tim. (It should be noted that at the beginning of the investigation that there was someone working in the office area and this could have been the what Tim saw. If this individual walked from the office and took up a position on the area above Tim, they would have been visible on the camera but above and behind Tim.)
After Juli and Josh moved into the pool area, Tim spotted a small flash of light on the opposite end of the poolroom where Josh and Juli were. Tim then radioed the pair to move down the side of the pool to investigate the source. They were not able to locate any possible source for the light anomaly that Tim saw on the monitor.
The teams then reassembled at the designated base and changed members with Tim taking the roving camera and going with Josh up to the bedrooms. Juli and Andrea paired up and returned to the investigation while Erin monitored the DVR’s.
Josh and Tim proceeded into a bedroom to begin investigating. Tim was using a video camera for documentation and Josh carried a recorder and camera. As Josh was taking pictures in the room, Tim attempted calling to see if they could get a response from an “entity” that may be in the room with them. Josh took up a position kneeling on the floor while Tim sat on the bed.
After a while, Josh got up and moved around the bedroom to the other side of the bed. He stated that he felt like there was a presence there. He tried calling to see if he could obtain a response. Soon after Tim stated to Josh that he felt heaviness in his chest, which Josh stated he also felt. After a few minutes had passed, this sensation went away.
After about 20 minutes in this area, Josh and Tim departed the bedroom and made their way back around to the entrance and into the kitchen area of the house.
After spending a short period of time in the kitchen area, Josh and Tim made their way back towards the bedrooms. A picture of the Rock group Nirvana was hanging in the hallway. Tim asked Josh to take a picture of this when Erin, who was monitoring the DVR informed them that she had seen a couple flashes of light in the doorway after the two investigators left the room. Josh and Tim then went back into the bedroom to see if they could determine what could have caused this.
The two returned to the room and closed the door to eliminate any outside noise and again tried calling to see if they could get a response. The two checked out the room for any possible light sources, but were not able to find any. Josh then went into the bathroom and tried to turn on the light to see if that could have caused it. Tim tried walking in front of the closed door to see if he could recreate it, but Erin informed him that the flashes she saw occurred with the door opened. Tim then stepped outside to ask Erin for some more details. She stated that she saw two small light flashes in the doorway immediately after the two departed. While Tim was speaking to Erin, Josh came out of the bedroom and had his EMF meter go off on the landing for no apparent reason. Tim asked him to sweep the area to see if he could locate a possible source or cause for the “hit”. Josh swept the walls, floor and ceiling to include an IR video cable. He was not able to recreate the EMF hit.
Josh and Tim then went into the lower bedroom and moved towards the rear of the room where they found an exterior door and entryway area. They then moved into a walk through bathroom that was located between the bedroom they were in and another one on the other side of the bathroom. They both them moved into the single bedroom where both investigators immediately felt chest heaviness again. While Tim attempting calling, Josh began taking digital photos of the area. Shortly after he began, he found that the flash on the camera failed to operate normally. Josh then left the bedroom and went to where Erin was watching the DVR and asked her to look at it since it was her camera. Erin checked the camera and could see that the flash was on and that there were no apparent problems. She took a picture and the flash operated normally again. The two investigators then returned to the bedroom where Josh tried the camera again and it would not function. Tim then asked Josh to wait and shut the bathroom door. Josh tried the camera again and it worked. Apparently the light from the bathroom was bright enough to disable the photocell that operated the flash on the camera.
The two investigators again tried calling and taking pictures. Again Tim stated that he was feeling uncomfortable to which Josh added the he too was feeling the heaviness again. After approximately 20 minutes, the two went back into the larger bedroom to see if the feeling of heaviness subsided. After attempting to call and taking photos for a while, Tim stated that he heard a faint rattling noise behind him like a door. Josh moved over towards Tim and found a closet door opened. Neither investigator could verify the position the door was in during their first vigil in the room so it was dismissed. The pair checked out the closet and closed the door. Josh then took some pictures in the bathroom and noticed that the flash worked in the bright environment but when he proceeded into the smaller bedroom and tried to take a picture, it worked once, but again the flash failed on him. While standing on the left side of the room by Josh, Tim asked Josh if he heard anything from the bathroom. He went on to add that he heard what sounded like a shuffling coming from there. Josh stated that he had not. After about a minute, Josh then stated that he heard a shuffling sound from the bathroom. Both investigators went into the bathroom to see what may have caused the noise. There were multiple washbasins in the room but none of them had any evidence that there was water leaking. They also checked out the toilet and shower areas for signs of any water dripping. They were unable to find any cause for the noises they had heard.
They again moved into the larger bedroom and resumed calling for a period of time. After approximately 20 minutes, they again moved back to the smaller bedroom. Again both investigators admitted that they felt either a chest heaviness or in Josh’s case, an uncomfortable feeling as if someone did not want them in there. Once they had completed their vigil in the bedrooms, they met up with the other team members by the DVR setup. They relayed their stories and feelings they experience to Juli, Erin and Andrea. Juli stated that while she was in the smaller bedroom, she felt nothing.
However, when she went into the larger of the two bedrooms, she felt sensations similar to what Josh was feeling, as if something did not want her or the investigators there.
It was then time to again change investigation teams. Andrea and Tim made their way into the pool area and adjacent rooms. They first tried to determine a reason for the unusual amount of orb activity seen on the camera that was positioned to view the pool area. After walking around the room and pool a few times the investigators noticed a very slight amount of water movement. They surmised that it appeared as though a filtration system was running. They could see slight water movement under the diving board that appeared like small bubbles on the surface of the water. They then noticed that there was a window that was slightly ajar adjacent to the diving board. They theorized that perhaps the small amount of movement in the water could cause small bubbles to rise to the surface of the pool and explode, thus sending small droplets of water into the air which could have been blown to the other end of the room where the camera was stationed. These droplets could appear as orb activity when viewed on the DVR. It did not however account for occurrences of orbs, which appeared to have a more controlled flight pattern and appeared to leave a trail when viewed on the DVR.
After attempting to account for some of the orb activity, Andrea and Tim again resumed calling and sweeping the room with the EMF meter. Most hits that were detected on the EMF meter could be accounted for as wiring or electrical devices. They went into a small sauna area, which was constructed entirely of what appeared to be cedar. They swept the room for EMF hits but were again able to account for any hits that they obtained.
After departing the sauna area, they moved into some rooms adjacent to the pool area and continued sweeping with the EMF meter and calling. They were unable to obtain any response to their questioning and departed after a short time. They moved back to the DVR setup where Erin reported that she and Josh were out on a patio or gazebo area where Erin stated she felt the presence of a female. She also reported that they had gone outside the house where both her and Josh had heard the sound of what sounded like someone moving at a rapid pace through the woods. Both investigators scanned the area and were not able to locate anyone or anything to account for the noise. She also reported that a short time later, both her and Josh saw what appeared to be a male moving quite quickly through the woods, however this “individual” did not make any noise while moving.
The team then began breaking down the equipment and departed the location at approximately 0200.
Synopsis:
HPT conducted an investigation at this location to investigate the validity of unexplained activity experienced both by employees and guests at the studio house. The activity reported ranged from the feeling of being watched and/or being followed. Others reported hearing unexplained noises for which no source could be found. The image of a male entity referred to as the “Blue Man”, primarily for the blue hue that the entity was seen in, had also been reported.
HPT employed a variety of devices throughout the location to include infrared cameras, digital cameras, digital audio recorders, dowsing rods, and sensitive team members. Equipment was located in areas where activity had been reported and investigative teams were stationed within areas that reported activity had occurred. Investigators within the investigative areas also used EMF meters and an infrared thermometer as detection devices.
Team members did report a variety of feelings while in certain areas, some contradictory of what other felt while in the same area. However, once compared, the feelings or sensations experienced did seem to coincide with those that others had experienced to include feelings of discomfort, heaviness, or feelings of being watched.
Occurrences or Experiences:
- Numerous EVP’s were obtained, most sounded like a male voice
- Sensitive team members “felt” the presence of multiple male entities
- Sensitive team members “felt” the presence of a female entity on the gazebo area
- Team member experienced a feeling of chest heaviness within certain areas of the house
- Team members heard faint noises within certain areas for which no source could be located
- Two team members heard what they believed was someone walking in the woods outside the house when no one could be seen
- Two team members viewed what appeared to be a male moving rapidly through the woods, however this “person” was not making any noise during this movement
- Sensitive team members employing dowsing rods appeared to gain response with the rods to questions that were posed
- Several light anomalies or “orbs” were captured on infrared camera that appeared to have their own flight pattern or appeared to be reacting to or attempting to interact with investigators
- Two digital photographs taken outside the location showed an unexplained “mist” that was not found in successively taken photographs.
Conclusion...
The primary goal of the investigation was to attempt to obtain evidence through the use of electronic equipment and a variety of recording devices in an attempt to add validity to past claims or incidents reported at the location. Employees, guests, and others who had stayed at the house provided these reports and claims.
HPT was successful in obtaining numerous EVP’s on audio recording devices, most sounding male in gender, for which no reasonable source could be found. Many of these recordings were obtain from female team members when no other male was in the investigative area. Digital photographs also recorded an unexplained mist on some photographs that was not present in successive photos.
Two team members also stated that they either heard or saw “something” or “someone” outside the location in the wooded areas. One of these sightings was reported as a male, walking rapidly through the woods but was doing so in total silence. Sensitive team members, through the use of dowsing rods also reported voluntary movement of the rods in what appeared to be response in direct reaction to question being posed within certain areas.
After the collection and review of all evidence and compilation of reports, the evidence collected and reports submitted do appear to conclude that there is activity of an unexplained nature occurring at the location. While the evidence collected was substantial and reported personal experiences seemed to coincide with past reports, the evidence obtained and personal experiences are not of the weight to label this location as “haunted”. There is however enough evidence to indicate that there is some form of paranormal activity occurring at the location, the source of which cannot be identified.
It is recommended that HPT remain in contact with this location and that any new or additional activity be reported to HPT for a possible follow-up investigation. It is also recommended that due to the vast size of the location and surrounding wooded area that an additional investigation be conducted in the future, to possibly include the house, to attempt to obtain additional supportive evidence.

The following three pictures were taken in succession by Erin while her and Josh were walking the grounds outside. Josh got a "feeling" and told Erin where to point the camera and shoot. When she reviewed the photos, she discovered this bright orb that appeared to move along with her shooting the pictures.
